Salmon Rushdie created tension and suspense by leaving many questions unasked, like why Soraya left and where she had gone.Salmon also does this because this forces the reader to read on as they would be intrigued and would want to find out what happens. One of the many times he’s done this is when Rashid’s mind went ,and he vowed he would tell a great story eventhough in his heart he knew he might not be able to.

John,
You have begun to explore Rushdie’s writing technique and how this will potentially have an impact on the structure.
Targets:
1) Choose at least one quotation to support what you have written.
2) Proof read – is your meaning clear? Have you checked spelling? Have you used full stops and commas in the correct places?
